ARQUIA

The project was about re-densify historical urban city-centers. I selected the Lisboa XVIII century quartier: Baixa. The area was rebuilded after the big  earthquake of 1755. Due to the urgency of the operation, it was planned as the first historical modulated architecture. All the constructive elements as windows, doors, and structural elements were made in the same size. Because of that, today, the most part of the buildings of the area conserve the same dimensions.
On the other side, today, this ares is highly neglected; several buildings are abandoned, waiting to be renovated. I proposed a temporal structure that, in one side, suported the façade of the buildings and, in the other side, was able to lodge some habitational modules.  In that way, the owners could earn money to reinvest in the building and the problems of low density of the area could be solved. This "structure" could fit to the most part of the buildings.
PLADUR COMPETITION FOR A TURISM OFFICE IN PORTO
IDEA: DIGITAL FACADE

The competiton asked for a turism office in the city center of Porto. The premises were to use Pladur as main material of building, and to place it in a plot wich had some ruins of an old construction.
The idea was to create a facade that was in the same time an SCREEN FOR TURISTIC VIDEOS. During the day, the same skin would be able to reduce and homogenize the light from the exterior.

The building intervention was, in one side, create an interior box. That box could serve as exhibition space, being in the same time basis for the video appliances.

The other side was the exterior skin. I proposed to use Pladur as a continuous, interior cladding, and produce an exterior glass skin. Between them, i placed the "light boxes", windows during the day, screens during the night
ARENISCA

The competition was about design a solution for the interior "patios" of the school of architecture. The material might be a little piece of stone. The idea: make a continuous cloack in walls and ground with a "pixels" language. The rest of the space would be completed by different materials and vegetation: barley, stone, water...
CÁTEDRA DE LA MADERA:

The competition was about building a tower in the top of a hill. The proposed solution was a response to the program contradiction: move down the image untill the pedestrian level. Made by a simple technology of mirrors, we proposed an itinerary of different views over the city.
CÁTEDRA DE LA MADERA II

The project requirements were about giving a solution for  "party walls" of some buildings of the city. The difficult access to this surfaces gave me the key idea. Produce some "photovoltaic  sprouts" that could give some profit to each neighbour and produce a strong image according to the nature of those buildings.
